Muse Auto Group presents this meticulously executed 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback Restomod, thoughtfully reimagined with legendary performance while preserving the unmistakable character of the original.

The previous owner acquired this beauty around 1988, and in 2020 it was refurbished and modified. Highlighting the build is the custom chassis, which uses a Heidts Superride II independent front end with rack-and-pinion steering, an upgraded K-member, adjustable coilovers, an upgraded sway bar, and the Heidts Pro-G High-Horsepower independent rear suspension features tubular control arms, inboard disc brakes, and adjustable coilovers. The 427ci V8 was built for the car using a Dart 351 block, Mahle flat-top pistons, SCAT H-beam connecting rods, a COMP Cams mechanical roller camshaft, AFR heads, an Edelbrock Air Gap intake manifold, and a Quick Fuel 830cfm carburetor. The engine is linked to a Hughes Performance 4L80E automatic and a Ford 9″ 3.73 limited-slip differential, and the car rides on 15″ Torq Thrust wheels mounted with staggered tires. Wilwood brakes were fitted along with an aluminum radiator, JBA headers, and SpinTech mufflers, and bodywork was performed before the custom paintwork was applied. The interior was also retrimmed with custom upholstery, and a B&M Magnum shifter was fitted along with a US Shift Quick 4 Gen 2 controller. This Mustang fastback is now offered in Canada with service records and British Columbia registration.

During the 2020-2021 refurbishment, the front-end sheet metal was replaced, and the frame rails and inner fenders were refinished with a black coating and seam sealer. A galvanized cowl was also installed, and the floors were redone. Fast Custom Limited applied the customized Brittany Blue-based paintwork.

The Heidts Superride II independent front end has rack-and-pinion steering, an upgraded K member, tubular control arms, adjustable coilovers, and a sway bar, and the Heidts Pro-G High-Horsepower independent rear suspension features tubular control arms, inboard disc brakes, and adjustable coilovers. Subframe connectors were also installed.

The car rides on staggered 15″ American Racing Torq Thrust D wheels mounted with 215/60 Ohtsu tires up front and 275/50 Nittos out back. The Wilwood brake system uses four-piston calipers on both ends along with drilled and slotted rotors and a Hydratech hydroboost system.

The interior was redone and features two-tone blue upholstery complemented by blue carpeting. A B&M Magnum shifter was installed along with a US Shift Quick 4 Gen 2 controller in the glove box. An AutoMeter tachometer and a digital speedometer have been fitted. 

The 427ci V8 was built for the car using a Dart 351 block, Mahle flat-top pistons, SCAT H-beam connecting rods, a COMP Cams mechanical roller camshaft and valvetrain, AFR heads, King bearings, a billet roller timing set, ARP hardware, and a Melling oil pump. The engine is topped by an Edelbrock Air Gap intake manifold and a Quick Fuel 830cfm carburetor, and a Concept One serpentine system, a Canton oil pan, and a Griffin aluminum radiator were used. Output is claimed to be 600 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. JBA headers are linked to a dual exhaust system with SpinTech mufflers and CNC-machined exhaust tips that emulate the side window profile.

A dedicated auxiliary transmission cooler was installed for the Hughes Performance 4L80E, which uses a high-stall torque converter and is linked to the rear end through a BA Custom Specialties driveshaft. The Ford 9″ rear end has a 3.73 limited-slip differential. 

Only around 1,500 miles have been added since the build was completed.

This beautiful 1968 Mustang Fastback has a British Columbia registration, and it is ICBC Collector-Plated.
